Classes & Programs

Kids BJJ Program
Ages 4-7

Our Kid BJJ program allows younger students to defend themselves by learning the fundamental movements of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. Without applying any submissions, your child will be able to establish and maintain a dominant position until the physical conflict situation is resolved. All techniques learned are formatted into a game style application. Additional skills acquired in our Kid BJJ program are COORDINATION, CONFIDENCE, MOTOR CONTROL, and FOLLOWING of DIRECTIONS.

Youth BJJ Program
Ages 8-12

As children get older, our expectation of their abilities increases. Our Teen BJJ classes are geared to use BJJ to push everyone through mental, physical, and emotional barriers that might have been holding back their full potential. While PERSEVERING, they will also see improvement in their PHYSICAL FITNESS as well as their overall CHARACTER.

Teen/Adult BJJ Program
Ages 13+

Each adult has a different reason for joining Light City Martial Arts. Some are into fitness and/or competition, while others just need a place to hang out and make new friends. Either way, we have what you are looking for! From beginner to advanced, the Jiu Jitsu techniques are shown in a manner that anyone can learn them. Just keep an open mind and leave your ego at the door!

Youth Kickboxing
Ages 8-12

Our Kickboxing class emphasizes the area of fighting that is not covered in the grappling art of Jiu Jitsu, stand up striking.  With the application of punches, kicks, and footwork, children are exposed to BALANCE, RHYTHM, PATTERNS, TIMING, AGILITY, and HAND EYE COORDINATION. Through a structured curriculum, your child will progress through a series of drills and combinations that will equip them with the necessary tools to defend themselves, while also having fun!

Adult/Teen Kickboxing 
Ages 13+

The Art of 8 Limbs is considered one of the most violent forms of the striking arts. Fortunately, it’s also a great stress reliever and fat burner! Using fists, elbows, knees, and shins as weapons, Muay Thai allows the user to get a full body workout while performing sparring drills. Although actual sparring is not mandatory, light sparring in a controlled manner is highly recommended. Great for men and women alike, Muay Thai is a must in your arsenal of self defense!
